Sell one item in multiple sizes or variants
Sizes let a single item carry multiple prices: think Half/Full portions, drink sizes or pack weights. Food and bakery businesses call this card "Sizes"; shops and services call it "Variants", and it works the same way. Customers pick the one they want at order time.
Options go a step further: add-on groups (extra cheese, toppings) and remove options (no onion) that customers choose while ordering.
Open the item and find Sizes or Variants
On the Menu page, tap the item to open its quick view, then tap "Edit". The "Sizes" card (food and bakery) or "Variants" card (shops and services) is just below "Photos and video". Tap "Sell this in sizes" (or "Sell this in variants"): one row appears, already filled in with the item's current price and set as Default.
Say what the sizes vary by
In "What the sizes vary by", tap a suggestion such as Size, Portion or Weight, or type your own word. Customers see it as the heading when they choose.
Add each option with its price
Tap the first row, name it (e.g. "Small"), check its price and tap "Done". Tap "Add a size" for each other option and fill in its name, its price and, if you like, an "Offer price". Use "Make this the default" on the option that should already be selected when a customer opens the item. Your menu shows the item from its lowest price, whichever option is the default.
Add options if you want them
Further down, in the "Options" card, use "+ Add-ons" for paid extras, "+ Remove Options" for things customers can leave out, or "Custom group" for anything else. Open the group, tap "Add a choice", then type the choice name and its extra price. "A customer must choose", "At least" and "At most" set the rules for each group.
Save
Tap "Update Item". Within about a minute your storefront shows the item from its lowest price, and tapping Add opens a chooser with your options, the default one already picked.
Good to know
- When sizes are on, the item's single price field disappears. Every size carries its own price.
- Each size has its own "Available" switch, so you can run out of Large without hiding Small. To count stock per size instead, open the size and turn on "Count this size".
- An item can hold up to 10 sizes or variants.
- Sizes and variants don't count toward your plan's item limit.
- Shops and services use their own words: "Catalog" or "Services" instead of "Menu", "Variants" instead of "Sizes", "Update Product" or "Update Service" to save, and "+ Personalisation" (shops) or "+ Batch Timing" (services) among the option buttons.
